Why I love living in California

Okay let’s get this straight, yes I live in California but I don’t live near the beach. I actually live in the northern plains an hour from the mountains. And I love living here for now.

Yes, California is huge it takes about 14 hours to get from the Oregon border to the Mexico border and it is about 4 hours to get from San Francisco to Lake Tahoe.

When I meet new people and tell them I am from California they right away assume the beach and warm weather. What they don’t realize is that California isn’t all beaches and warm weather, yet matter of fact every part of California is different. For example southern California or otherwise known as L.A. area has a similar weather year round. It could always get super hot quickly. Lake Tahoe area is cool in the summer and freezing in winter due to snow. San Francisco area is usually foggy and windy. These things are just the little bit of the amazing state I live in.

What I love about California is the diversity of people living here. People form different cultures and backgrounds all together is amazing. On every corner is a different type of food restaurant or cafe, basically for every craving you have there is a place to eat. The Mexican food is my favorite now and it is phenomenal here in California.

Most of all I love the variety of places I could see around me. I live 2 hours from San Francisco and 2 hours from Lake Tahoe, 40 minutes from the capital and 20 minutes from the gold country. It is so easy to change the scenery for a day and all you need is a tank full of gas in your car because that’s the best way to get around here.

Someday I will be able to see every inch of this state. So far I have been from one border to another on one highway. I have been along the coast from San Francisco to San Diego. I have been through the agricultural valley ( if you didn’t know California grows most of the fresh food for United States) and hiked through different parts of the of the Sierra Mountains. But I still have a lot more to see and experience here.

This is just a little what I love about California: the people, food, and amzing scenery every way you look. I cannot wait to continue experiencing California more and more and learning new things, finding new places and meeting new people.
